In 2022, SIP merged with other NGOs to form the EU Performance Consultation Forum on Asylum (European Union Agency for Asylum).
The EU Agency for Asylum is a new EU agency that replaced the European Asylum Support Office in 2022. This agency provides operational and technical support to Member States in the field of asylum and provides training for Member States’ asylum authorities. From the end of 2023, it will also start monitoring the implementation of the EU asylum law in the Member States, including Poland.
The Consultative Forum was established to ensure constant contact of the EU Asylum Agency with national and European non-governmental organizations. Forum members have the opportunity to consult the Agency’s activities, including the key documents it has prepared.
As part of the Consultative Forum, SIP will also participate in the work of a thematic group focusing on particularly vulnerable people applying for international protection in the EU.
