Children and youth

Children who have migrated to another country remain one of the most vulnerable groups in Europe today. They are exposed to regular violations of children’s rights, carelessness, abuse and violence.

Some foreign minors are additionally exposed to situations which may have a negative and long-term impact on their safety, psychophysical development, personality and thus on their further life. These are kids who have experienced deprivation of liberty for migratory reasons, children who are at risk of being forcibly deported, as well as those who have experienced violence or one of whose parents have experienced violence. Deportation of youngsters who have found their home in Poland and have established close relations with their peers can be a traumatic experience for them.

Stowarzyszenie Interwencji Prawnej undertakes a number of activities aimed at protecting children from the negative effects of migration. Moreover, we are not only involved in legal representation, strategic litigation and advocacy for the observance of their rights, but we also provide foreign kids with the necessary psychological, integration and social assistance. Together with volunteers, we organize games and integration activities to help them settle down in Poland.
