Every year hundreds of thousands of immigrants come to Poland to work, study or perform business. In order to be able to legally reside here, they must apply for a visa or a relevant residence permit. The proceedings in these cases often require a very long time and the foreigners are not always properly informed about their rights and obligations.
Stowarzyszenie Interwencji Prawnej represents newcomers whose proceedings continue for too long. We provide legal support when they have been unlawfully refused a permit or when guarantees of fair proceedings have been breached. When the authorities systematically violate the rights of foreigners to have their case heard in a fast, impartial and reliable manner, we intervene. Finally, we continuously monitor changes in the law and react when they lead to the restriction of immigrants’ rights.
