WORK IN POLAND
Poland has become a destination country for numerous foreigners migrating for economic reasons. It is estimated that there are between 1.5 and 2 million foreign workers in Poland per year.
Immigrants working in Poland are often exposed to violations of their labor rights as well as discrimination on the labor market. Due to the fact that their residence in Poland is linked to employment with a particular employer, there are cases when they do not receive any or all of the remuneration due to them. Negligence of the employer in the scope of registration or payment of due contributions often burdens the foreigner himself. Consequently, they often do not want or are afraid to report abuses to the relevant authorities.
Stowarzyszenie Interwencji Prawnej is engaged in strategic litigation to protect the rights of newcomers working in Poland, as well as to counteract discrimination. Seeking to strengthen the protection of foreign workers, we participate in public consultations on changes in the law in this area.
