Hostages of the System: stories from detention

As part of the “Hostages of the System” campaign, we present the stories of people who spent time in detention centers for migrants in Poland. We want to inspire a public discussion about detention and alternative measures to detention.

Detention is often not necessary. There are possible alternative measures which can be as effective as detention while safeguarding dignity and human rights of an individual.
