The UN Commitee Against Torture prepares a seventh periodic report on Poland. One of the topics analyzed is the respect of the prohibition of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment towards foreigners in Poland. We prepared a shadow report to the information provided by the Polish government.
We pointed out:
- constant immigration detention of children and victims of violence,
- problems with proper identification of vulnerable groups, including victims of violence,
- violation of the non-refoulement rule at the Polish border and by carrying on expulsions before final deportation decisions,
- lack of proper guarantees and aid for victims of gender-based violence.
